Hotel is conveniently located 75m from the Alonso Martinez Metro Station and is simple and quick to get to from the airport. The hotel is obviously fairly newly refurbished well appointed and trendy. First impressions after reception is the stark white decor, the room corridors have blue mood lighting and ceiling lights on short IR Timer switches. We stayed in... More

This hotel itself was very nice. There is an elevator, nice old staircase, quiet courtyard at the core of the building, you may also take a bicycle to circle around the city; there is a cool shower, good laptop connected to the internet free of charge, everything good and well kept, but there are several nuances: First - about 5... From its chic modern design to its dedicated family rooms (not easily found in Madrid) the Petit Palace Santa Barbara opens it very capable doors to a wide variety of clientele. This lovely boutique hotel, with spotless rooms is located on a diverse pedestrian plaza replete with sandwich shops, patisseries, a small playground, book stand and beer garden. Seconds away... I stayed here in March 2012 for one night - with a group of 3 other girls. We wanted somewhere central as we were only in the city for the weekend. This hotel was brilliant and we all want to go back. We had a family room with a large double (2 singles pushed together as in most Spanish hotels)... More

Dear Guests, Thank you so much for your nice comments about our hotel. We are glad you found your room to be spacious and adequate for 4 persons. Its great news to hear that you had no traffic noise from your room even though it faces the plaza. All the windows are very well insulated against this. The hotel is... More

Many of the other reviews are spot on, right down to the showers leaking onto the floor a little (not a big deal). Overall this is great hotel for all the right reasons - value, location and cleanliness. I spent five nights at this hotel with my wife and three kids during our spring break in Madrid. We had two... We stayed at this location for three nights in January. The staff was very helpful. The metro station, Alonso Martinez was just a short distance away. The area has a lot of options to get a meal. There were a lot of Tapas restaurants, a convenience store, pharmacy, fancy italian restaurant, burger King... and around the corner, there were several... More

Dear Guests, Thanks for your kind comments about our hotel. The hotel was effectively an old palace which belonged to a Marques of Quintanar. We have a lot of positive comments about the stairwell and the general mix of the old historic building and the modern rooms. Regarding the bathrooms, its true that they dont have extractors, they just have... More

We have stayed here a few times and if it wasn't good we would have not come back. We love the area. Vibrant and lively! The bad points are the noise at night and patchy service. On balance we would recommend booking here if you can cope with a younger lifestyle! At first we did not like madrid but it... More

This hotel is ideally place to visit Madrid, we had a lovely stay and would recommend the hotel, a minor issue would be the lack of English tv stations so would recommend taking some DVD's for the free laptop. Would definitely stop again

We used this hotel as a one-night stop in Madrid. Location was very good, right next to the exit of the metro line 10 (Alonso Martinez). My husand and I stayed at Petit Palace Santa Barbara in November 2011 (sorry for the late review) and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean and walking distance to Gran Via and Puerta del Sol.
