I have stayed several times at Hostal Suso, and it has been a pleasure every time. After the renovation in 2013 it has fine from good to excellent. Sure - you can find classier places, but Suso has a great atmosphere and a helpful staff.
The rooms are small but very clean with excellent bathroom facilities.
The bar/restaurant downstairs serves excellent food and the staff were charming and very hospitable.
Hostal Suso is ideally situated in the heart of the city and a welcome refuge for a weary pilgrim.

Perfect location for Santiago's old city in central pedestrianised traditional street, comfortable modern rooms with good bathroom, very good value breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice in bar downstairs, friendly staff. Very reasonably priced.
Hostal Suso is a fantastic place. The bar downstairs serves excellent breakfast, the location on the Ruá do Villar couldn't be better placed and the service from the wonderful staff is a testament to the miracles of the wonderful city that hosts the hostal. Any trip to Santiago can be made better with a visit.
