We chose the Montecarlo because it received a high rating from other Tripadvisor members. We were catching a cruise on Celebrity's Solstice May 11th and decided to stay for 2 nights in Barcelona . The room was a good size and had windows that could be opened to let in fresh air. The room number was 506 and was at... More

We stayed one night post-cruise and this was a nice location for quickly seeing some sights - easy walk to P. Catalunya, Gothic Quarter, old cathedral, and 10 minutes from the Columbus statue. Staff was very accommodating in securing adjacent rooms for 2 couples travelling together, opening a bottle of wine and securing wine glasses for us, and gave a... More

Spectacular location overlooking La Rambla, the most exciting area of the city! We stayed post-cruise and cannot say enough about the quality and convenience. The hotel is a short 10-minute walk up La Rambla from the Columbus statue in the port...an easy stroll even with luggage. A balcony room and the rooftop solarium offer great views of the city. The... I recently stayed on May 22nd, at this hotel at the end of my cruise. As soon as the taxi pulled up outside, an employee was taking our bags out of the taxi. Although check in was 3pm, they let us check in at 9am and relax instead of waiting in the lobby like I have at the Sheraton after... More

I read the reviews and although we usually go for less expensive hotels I thought we should try the Hotel Montecarlo for our three night stay in Barcelona. The reception staff were truly excellent and friendly, they went out of their way to help us and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. However, the room was very average, we... More

We recently stayed a week at the hotel Montecarlo and loved it. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. Gave good advice on things to do and see, places to eat, how to get around Barcelona. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and the hotel itself is beautiful. Highly reccommended!

I recently stayed here for four days and found everything, but the location to be very avearge. The overall atmosphere is dark, dank, and dead. A few of the employees (One head man and one younger metro-sexual bell boy) could be described as "snooty." That is never acceptable, even at a five star resort, but this was a solid 3... More

I already knew, from other reviewers, that the room was small. However, when in a city like Barcelona, during this time of the year (sunlight until 9pm), the room is just a place to crash out after a long day. And the single room's size is really not that bad, and bathroom is almost regular size. Also, I could not... More

we stayed four nights in this great hotel, it was a fabulous location right on La Rambla, could not have been more conveniently located. staff were extremely helpful and made every effort for guests to feel welcome, provided information and directions, encouraged our pretty feeble attempts to build our repertoire of spanish and were just very warm. Fausto especially was... More

We had fabulous large room overlooking La Rambla and without the noise (double glazed double windows). The staff are very obliging (particular mention to Roger and Fabio who were very helpful and patient). Can't recommend this hotel and their staff highly enough.
