We got off the plane, bought a T10 ticket (invaluable) and caught the train to the main Barcelona Station then got the tube to Paralel (Green Line). We had a good 3 night stay at the Universal Hotel in Barcelona. The hotel is steps away from the metro so it is convenient for going around the city and it was also very well priced (lots of advance purchase deals available through their website). Our standard room was clean and spacious.
