We came on a 3night/half-board deal and were still warmly welcomed wih a slight Saxon accent, typical of this staff obviously hired from local resources. This turned out to be extremely helpful in such practical matters as finding local pubs and restaurants on the serene banks of the Elbe river as it passes the Dresden suburb of Laubegast where the... We stayed here overnight on a coach tour. It's a little out of town, in a quiet residential area. The room we had was nice and comfortable, with a well stocked mini-bar at fairly reasonable prices, and the staff were very pleasant. The meals (breakfast and evening) were buffet style and very nice (but beware what might appear to be... More

Like a previous reviewer, we stayed here on a battlefields trip and had a very similar experience. The food was insufficient for our tour group of 40 as well as being of poor quality. We had paid extra to eat in the hotel so that made it even worse. There is no alternative eating place locally as the hotel is... More

Myself, husband and two friends stayed at this hotel with a coachload of passengers on a Battlefields tour. We were advised by the tour company to take a meal deal as this hotel was not near any restaurants. I have to say that I am not a picky eater but the presentation and choice of food reminded me of school dinners,... More

As a member of a coach party, this was the hotel selected for me on my visit to Dresden. It is located in the pleasant residential area of Laubergast, a twenty minutes journey by tram (No.4) into Dresden, and it is about ten minutes walk to the bank of the river Elbe. The building was flooded in 2002, and has... More

Ramada Resident Dresden is really a bed factory on the outskirts of Dresden in a suburban area which has nothing at all to recommend it. It would appear to be a converted block of previous Communist flats. The advertised roof terrace on level 7 was a small square with two tables and chairs, no lights, no bar - the only... More

The hotel is located in a suburb of Dresden called Laubegast which is a better residential area. Access is easy via tram No 4 or taxi (about € 12.00 from downtown). The hotel caters mainly to individual tourists and organized travel groups arriving by bus from all over Germany. The room size is adequate and typical for modern budget hotels.... More

We stayed at this hotel because it was only 2 blocks away from our friends' apartment. They booked it for us. Face it, the Ramada Resident Hotel is a big-box hotel that caters to large busloads of foreign tourists (2-3 busses park out front every night). There isn't anything "charming" or old-world about it. It is clean, functional, and efficient... More
