Hotel well located for both business trips (congress in Essen) as visiting the ruines of the industrial revolution and the conversion afterwards. Impressing picture of the Thyssen Hütte in the restaurant. Also very nice permanant exposition of pictures from the very end of "old" industrial area, the end of the heavy industry activities and the ruthless proces of decay.

Sitting rather isolated on a light industrial park, somewhat removed from the shopping district and city centre, although neither are more than 5 minutes drive away, the hotel offers decent if no-thrills Mercure standards.
