“nice and welcoming”

this hotel may seem, in some areas, a little bit old but the (bath)rooms are spacy, very clean and quiet. Excellent beds. Located close to the city center and with parking facilities close at hand this was a good opportunity to stay a few days. Very friendly and helpful staff.

“Good hotel for short trips!”

Good, friendly and efficient staff, good price, excellent breakfast, good location. A little outdated furnitures and decoration, but at least all were clean. I would suggest to anyone who is visiting Dusseldorf.

“An ideal place to stay, close to local town and Messe.”

We stayed during the Messe boat show 2013 and were very pleased. We found it close to local town and Messe centre. The staff were extremely helpfull and polite and helped us with all our requests. The service we received was excellent and would note hesitate to recommend to anyone.

“Excellent hotel.”

Staff are really friendly. Hotel is spotless, rooms very comfortable. Bed is very comfy. Free breakfast is excellent. Hot and cold food. Hotel in a great location to all sightseeing and bars. Would definitely stay here again!

“Perfect for Boat Show”

I stayed 10 days during the boatshow. Excellent stuff. Friendly and professional. Close to railway system. Would definetly recommend to someone else. Building is full of history. If you stay one day, do climb the stairs at least once to see the photos of the evolution of the building. The one taken just after the Worldwar II is my favorite...

“Nothing great but nothing bad!”

Rooms were average size, bed was comfortable. Staff were very helpful and pleasant and breakfast was filling. My only negative was the size of the lift, it was tiny! Overall nothing special however wouldn't mind staying here again.

“Excellent overall very efficient hotel great staff”

I stayed here recently with a work colleague an excellent hotel with very efficient and courteous staff . The only criticism I would have said and very minor at that was no tea or coffee in the rooms. But apart from that excellent overall. Would definitely go again.

“Christmas Markets”

The Excelsior was well placed to walk to the markets about 10/15 mins away. Easy access from the airport too. The hotel was warm and comfortable, undergoing some upgrading. The staff were delightful, friendly, attentive and helpful. The very comprehensive breakfast set you up for the day. We would definitely stay here again.

“hidden 5 star hotel”

I think this is "hidden" 5 star hotel,near Hoffgarden,.walk distance -10 min- from Konigsallee,Altstadt,Galerea Koufhoff,very clean,real spacious rooms,safe without charge,very clean,very comfortable beds, full size bathroom,big flat-screen TV, friendly staff,good "warm"bar,"warm" atmosphere in hotel, maybe breakfast must be liitle better,not gym & sauna,but who cares about this. Many traditional German taverns in area :HImme & laht,Florian,...,Strongly recommended.
