Booked through my Accor Silver Membership two superior rooms confirmed non smoking. Arrived, two small smoking rooms allocated. There was a conference on so bumped. Reception staff no help. Wi Fi ropey, expected better, very noisy.

Stayed here for a night and was pleased for the most part. The room is an average sized European hotel room with all of the amenities one would expect. The Mercure Hotel in Cologne Friessenstrasse is a nice hotel for pleasure, located close to public transport (Metro). We had a very pleasant stay during our last weekend. Rooms are clean and well equipped, high standard. The breakfast was jummy.

This hotel is located next to a tube line, its not far from the Dom, and its smack bang in the middle of one of the best areas to go for a drink in Cologne. The hotel itself is much like any other Mercure,Novotel or characterless chain hotel. Come here if you don't want to stumble home far at 5am!
