Stayed for a few nights for a wedding. The Ferry Inn had lovely staff, all really friendly and welcoming. I had a tiniest single room but it was very comfortable and did what it needed. The food was brilliant, the breakfasts were just the ticket the morning after a wedding reception. The dinners too were great, I had sea bass... More

Like many others, we were looking for a place to spend the night prior to catching the ferry to the Orkneys. The Ferry Inn was inexpensive and to be honest we were not expecting much as it was one of our least expensive accommodations on our 2 week trip. It is located on the main drag, just a minute's drive... More

I stayed here for two nights whilst in the area on business. I wasn't sure what to expect given the hotel's location, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The bedroom was huge and equipped with a LCD Freeview TV and tea & coffee making facilities. It was also absolutely roasting. The bathroom was nice and the shower... More

Like many we needed somewhere convenient to the Orkney ferry to stay, and the Ferry Inn certainly qualifies. The rooms are large and comfortable but don't trust the website description that they have "uninterrupted views over The Penland Firth to the majestic Orkney Islands" - a simple look at the map shows that the only thing visible from the hotel... The last few reviews paint a fair picture. We stayed one night before heading on to Orkney as part of an 11 day tourof Scotland. The welome was warm and the room spacious, clean and light with lovely harbour view. This was the cheapest room of our trip and probably the best. Throw in an excellent breakfast, the proximity to... We stayed here 2 nights, before and after a trip to Orkney. First night we had 1 double room, second night a twin and a double. Both evenings we ate in the restaurant which is next door. It may not be luxury but we had no complaints - the rooms were well turned out and spotlessly clean, the staff were... More

We stayed for 2 nights on B&B at £35 pppn but we also booked in advance for the popular Upper Deck restaurant for dinner. As we had done our research, we had no problem about checking in at the desk behind the "Popeye's" bar or out at the Upper Deck after breakfast. Quite simply, it appears one of the reasons... More

Looks nothing from the outside, very friendly welcome when you walk in, good size double room, modern and very clean, good sized shower and toilet. Breakfast served in the Upper Deck Restaurant ajoining the hotel, a good choice and freshly prepared.

Our group consisted of adults and children (ages 3yrs - 14yrs) and we all had a brilliant stay at this hotel. The staff couldnt do enough for us so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much for them. The rooms are so cosy and very clean beautifully decorated and comfortable. Food fantastic & would recommend this & hotel to everyone.

We stayed here one night as there was nothing available in Thurso (and Scrabster is on the same harbour just a two minute drive away). This hotel is basically the only thing in Scrabster as it's really just a ferry port but as far as a decent rom for the night, it was fine (or even good). Rooms are above... More
