This was a very disappointing hotel, as although not expensive, it left a lot to be desired. The rooms were old & not well presented. Everything looked very dated & from the bathroom linen looking as having seen better days to bedrooms that were not appealing. the view from the room was into an apartment block, with people coming onto... If you are looking for a budget hotel in Berlin. This one you can keep on back of your mind as a fall back option. Ambience reminds you of some lodge not hotel but I must say rooms are big and clean. You can certainly save some euros for extra shopping with a little compromised stay here. Hotel connectivity is... More

I stayed at the Savigny with my girlfriend in september 2011. We were intrigued by the description of Savigny as an historic hotel but we were terribly dissapointed. Its just OLD and ugly. The lobby is worn down and even the staff looks worn down. Very old people in very old uniforms. But I have to add: The were sweet... More

We recently stayed at this hotel and I was traveling with my aged parents. It was a wonderful stay. Housed in a pre-war era house complete with brass elevators, and high ceilings, it was a steal at Eur 60 pn for a triple with breakfast and free internet. The owners who run this place are extremely friendly and helpful. The... More

This is the second time we have stayed here in a year and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Berlin, everything is close by within a metro stop (If you don't like to walk) Metro is directly outside and takes you to any other destination within minutes. Staff go out their way to make you comfortable, very friendly and happy,... More

I am surprised no one has mentioned the smell of tobacco smoke, which can be smelt from the street outside and is overwhelming when one opens the shabby brass door to this old, uncared for hotel. Once in the lobby, the smoke makes a non-smoker's eyes water and it does not subside when one goes to the room. Overnight, I... More

First impression, dirty, dull, depressing. Bathroom was like a cupboard and hairs on loo seat. Two sinks in bedroom made terrible noises all night. One bed on sitting on it. Felt generally unclean and kept socks on all the time so as not to make contact with floor. Although on top (4th) floor, could hear movement above us in the... More

Escaped from our 3 month old baby and a traditional, quiet hotel sounded just the thing. They put us in a room just beyond the bar, the corridor had 5 guest rooms - and the bar toilets! Not surprisingly noisy at night, also woken at all hours of the night with constant banging doors. Only hotel I've been in where... More

We stopped for three nights from 11th October - as a group of 5 couples. Arrived late but hotel easy to find - only 300mtrs from underground. Very easy to get to from Schoenfeld airport. Staff very welcoming , helpful and friendly - the bar would stay open as long as we wanted! The hotel is quaint with an old... More

This was my third stay at the Savigny for six nights.Insofar as Berlin is so big this is reasonably situated, being 300 yards from the Ku'dam and convenient for Charlottenburg. It is also on the direct U7 metro line from Schonefeld airport. The staff are friendly and English speaking, the rates are reasonable and include a buffet breakfast and good... More
