I have stayed in this Pension (B&B without the breakfast) a few times as I have family in Berlin - I like it - it is clean, quiet and the owners are friendly (not sure what nationality they are??). This pension is very near Samariter Strasse U Bahn, which is only a few stops from Alexander Platz (the former east... More

This is definitely a basic, no-frills place. Nearest U-bahn is about 5 minutes walk, and another 5-10 minutes metro trip to Alexanderplatz. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby, and the area seems pretty good. Be aware that if you only speak English, you will struggle to communicate with the owners. One girl who sometimes works there speaks... More

The rooms are quite dated and not very well ventilated (at least not when it's 30 degrees!), but I really can't complain. We had a great stay. There is a shop selling almost everything right next door, the underground (Samariterstraße)/buses/trams are all 5 minutes walk away, and the underground is 5/10 minutes into Alexanderplatz, which is bang central Berlin. You... More

I was concerned by other reviews after I booked, but found this place to be surprisingly good, offering a spacious, warm room with TV and a good wifi connection, as well as two very clean bathrooms to share between 4 guest rooms. Rooms have bins emptied daily and linen changed every few days. There is also access to a kitchenette... More

Reading some reviews of this site, I thought Pension Regenbogen would be real value for money. True, 29 Euros per night isn't expensive for Berlin Friedrichshain, which is slightly east of the centre and has plenty of cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops, etc. However, the single room I occupied (no 9) was shabby and the interior worn (including the bed). There... More

This place is pretty ordinary. It was very hot in Berlin when we were there (37 degrees) and we were unable to open the window in our very small double room which for €50 a night was a little bit too much to pay. There was no fan either -- this wouldn't normally have been a problem but it was... More

That time I just needed a bed to sleep for low price that can be reached from TXL within 45 min. SO I finished at that pension and it was quite ok for almost nothing I payed for that as last minute booking. Owner was waiting for me until very late evening as was promised, check in was fast and... More

i was for 3 nights in a single room. was ok for the price, 30 euros for a single room. contrary to the previous review, i think the location is rather nice, in a cosy east-berlin residential area with lots of nice neighbourhood bars and restaurants, supermarket, friendly drink store in the immediate vicinity, and a ten-minute walk to the...
