The Karmeliten is a great little hotel in Regensburg, Germany that is perfectly located for exploring the historic town center. We found a friendly staff who offered warm hospitality. We arrived with our moto and they allowed us great parking in a safe place. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic and included smoked salmon, cheese, fresh bread and pastries!! Regensburg is... In general I would take advice from TA reviews to choose properties for my stay. This time, I was not the responsible for the booking and, I can tell, I was afraid for what I would find. First, the hotel location is very convenient regarding the center of Regensburg, only 10 minutes walking from the train station and with a... More

We arrived four days ago (7 July 2011) and stayed for four days. When we arrived we realised the room was ready for only one occupant, but after talking to reception, the helpful young man closed the reception (there was nobody waiting to book in, BTW) and personally took up the extra towels, duvet and pillows. The breakfasts were really... More

We enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. The room was large and quiet as it faced the courtyard. The building is old and part of the history of the hotel was interesting in itself. The bathroom was nice and the room was cleaned daily. It had a small bar, a large and bright breakfast room, and the staff was... More

This hotel looked reasonably good online, and having not been to Regensburg for several years, the combination of a cheap online rate (70 euro) and a central location made it seem worth a try. Do not be tempted into staying here! We were given room 330, at the corner of the building on the the third (top floor). After a... More

Convenient 10 minute walk --part alongside beautiful park, part on a pedestrian street-- from the train station. On the edge of Regensburg's compact and easily navigable old city which is mostly pedestrian streets. Worth a stay if only for the enormous brass room keys! Friendly and helpful desk staff. Rooms try to be brightly colored and cheery --mine had 15foot... More

If I were to decide as to whether I would return to the hotel based on the staff, my answer is a definite yes. But if it were to be based on the room, then I might have to ponder. First off, the various receps were exceedingly friendly, pleasant, smiley, and helpful! Even the room-cleaning ladies and the breakfast room... More

Stayed at Hotel Karmeliten for two nights with a friend. I had booked so long ago that I had forgotten why I had requested a "quiet" room. The hotel is well run, the room was very large, everything sparkled, chocolate on each pillow. We were given a voucher for a complimentary drink at the very pleasant bar near reception. We... More
