The Motel one Garching is a good choice if visiting TUM or Munich in general. It's just right next to Garching Hochbruck metro station with easy access to city center. The rooms are neat-look modern and the best part is free Wifi and breakfast! I would totally recommend this place.

Brand new hotel. Super clean. Very decent breakfast. Helpful staff. Located in a Munich suburb but easy to access either by car or subway/train. We left our car at the hotel and took the subway/train to get to Marienplatz (about 15 minutes). Cheaper than staying in central Munich. Supermarkets nearby in Garching. We'd go back to this hotel.
