If you're travelling for leisure, this hotel has a great location right in the old town, close to the restaurants and bars. It easily reached by the C3 trolleybus from Part Dieu station, and the directions the hotel sent us were easy to follow. Reception was friendly and helpful. Our room was right at the back of the hotel. This... More

We stayed here over the weekend in late September. The double room with bath was much larger than we'd expected and scrupulously clean, and the high ceilings (with exposed beams!) make it feel very spacious. The showerhead hook is low but we did find the shower went high enough to shower standing up and the bath was fantastic. We'd read... More

The Saint Paul hotel, while ideally located in the old section of Lyon, is a seriously flawed choice of a place to stay. It’s located at the beginning of a pedestrian walkway surrounded by lots of restaurant, bars, and resultant noise. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly; however the reception area is dingy and small. There is no elevator... More

Dear Guests, First of all, again, please accept our deepest apologies for all the troubles you encountered during your stay. The bedbug situation has, of course, been taken care of. As you said it yourself, this is helas a potential problem everywhere, thankfully still very rare. Let me just adress some of the troubles you noted during your stay. We... More

we stayed here because it was close to our favourite restaurants and in a great central position, but the main reason was the cheap prices. I asked for a high floor but probably not necessary as the extra thick double glazing lets no noise filter through. I loved the old building, and we had a new bathroom - although the... More

This hotel is a small 18Th century building. Therefore the rooms are full of character and very clean. The location is right in the centre of Lyon old town, about 200m to the river and main bus route. Me and my sister stayed here for two nights. It was meant to be three but we had an emergency and had... More

Just stayed for the second time in hotel Saint Paul. We got, on request, the same room as the last time: room number 223, on the second floor with a view on the street. SInce last time they installed double windows in the room, probably after complaints about the noise on the street. We never had a problem with it.... More

This was our first trip to France and we found the hotel was in a perfect location to explore the city. Only had to take the Rhone Express from the airport and a short bus journey to get there. On arrival the receptionist who I believe was the new owner provided us with really useful information about the City and... More

I really enjoyed this hotel on the edge of old Lyon. Friendly considerate staff, fresh croissants and bread and decent coffee for breakfast, comfortable room. The building is historic Guignol with spiral staircase and no lift, part of the charm. Take advice from the staff about good places for traditional Lyonnaise food.

Very good - located in a15th century building, with a spiral staircase. But no elevator. Charming and a bit quirky, with small rooms overlooking a small courtyard. Modern en-suite facilities. Unfortunately a neighbouring renovation had cut the broadband cable! Good cheap breakfast for about 5 Euro. Friendly staff with good English.
