Villefranche- sur- mer is a terrific small town just east of Nice. The haborside in the lower town is picture perfect. We stayed at Hotel Welcome for 5 nights in June 2011 and loved it! It's not cheap but totally worth it. Villefranche is an expensive area and as far as I know this is the only hotel.
