Very good experience at this nice, small hotel. We were looking for a quiet place close to the train station. We found it. Excelsior is at walking distance to the train station and has a great garden. Rooms on gardenside are peaceful and calm. I recommend that side.

Very clean, very close to train station and walking distance to sea, shopping, and the "olde city". Speak excellent English and are very friendly.

Although I've stayed only two nights, everything worked well for me. The room was nice, clean and the heating was good which was very important during these few cold days in Nice.

The hotel is very well situated, pretty old style building with basic standard rooms. I enjoyed our stay. However we had some trouble with the cleaning staff, since they rush into the room without knocking, have a tendency to leave the balcany doors open even when hot, and they didn´t leave any new soaps and shampoos in a weeks stay.... This hotel was the perfect location to return our rental car and then leave the next day on a train. The room was decorated with strange colors and there was scaffolding on the outside of the building. The room was large enough and it was only a 20 minute walk to the downtown area and the sea. Although old in syle it is well kept and clean. It is not in the smartest location but is very close to the railway station where buses from the airport also stop. The hotel is just a few minutes walk away. It is also less than a 10 minutes walk into the centre of the town for the restaurants shops... More
