We stayed 3 nights in a twin room. After arriving by train into Nice Ville station we caught a taxi (18 euro) to the hotel. It took approx. 5 minutes in the taxi. The hotel is in a perfect location. Day visited: 13-16 April 2012 Good location, by the beach and with plenty restaurant mostly Italian in vicinity. 5mins walk to high end shopping street and 10mins to the mid-end such as a simple Lafayette. i stayed at mercure nice in December it was being renovated and new tv's put in each room. the noise was a joke when i told the staff i was here on business and needed some sleep they kept saying they would get it sorted,never did,i had £80 pounds in my suit pocket which i did not change to euro's... Excellent location. Excellent service. I had Superior Room overlooking the patio with 1 queen-size bed. My room was smaller than that of my colleague who also had same category. (I would recommend room 331 and those on that side over 363). Of course room with city views and sea views are much better if you can get a good price.... More

Try not repeat that this Mercure is located in a possibly the best spot in Nice. However, it is only worthwhile if you treat yourself a bit better by booking the ocean-view rooms. Stayed at this hotel in July 2011. Great stay, nice staff, rooms were clean and big, location is seconds away from Nice's most famous place aka La promenade des anglais. But, just so you know, Nice is super busy in July and August as it gets flooded with tourists and as result the hotel's area gets pretty noisy at night.... More
