The bread and breakfast is a facility owned and run by a single lady which cannot assure you of quality. She is running around at all times with her dogs. The continental breakfast is good and she is really polite and helpfut to guide you for everything from sightseeing, local transport, eating joints and shopping. The entry to the facility... More

The character of the place is why I do not rate it lower. My fiance and I stayed in a room which had a shower IN the room as opposed to a private area for it, which wouldn't have been THAT bad, had the shower been clean enough. The dark shower curtain also made it difficult to see while showering.... More

We arrived three weeks ago in the Villa Saphir. Good location near the bus stop and 10 minutes by foot to the tramway, but thats where it ends. Firstly the kitchen: when we arrived the kitchen looked like one big mess. Dirt everywhere, the dogs are free to run around the house and there was marmalade in open glasses wiht... More

Annie was very helpful and served a great continental breakfast. We got there late and walked down the hill to a restaurant for a fine meal. Bus stop outside door. Couldn't decide if the place was run down or still being done up. Room was large but too much in it. Went to the beach next morning. They've got to... More

Miserable owner. Runs B&B to survive, not as a business. Had to wait for her when we arrived - place was like a ghost town. This place needs to be inspected and shut down. Poor cleanliness. Poor service. Torn sheets. Has not seen paint in 20 years. Disgusting stench from fridge in kitchen. Towels provided look like oil rags! Not... More

I do not understand this place getting any good reviews. Firstly I stay at budget hotels, I figure i don't spend much time in the hotels anyway so why worry and I'm not hard to please but this place was a dump and what made it worse is it was very unclean. Okay lets start with the positives, the lady... More

I have been to Nice many times before. I usually rent an appartment when I stay there on extended stays. This time I stayed only few nights in Villa Saphir at a very unbeatable rate. First of all, I found Annie very helpful, she helped me out a lot and her suggestions were very helpful. I particularly did not like... More

Stayed at the Villa mid-way through June. Really appreciated Annie's efforts to make your stay comfortable. Very convenient ~ bus line 4 stops right at the doorstep, really don't know why the previous reviews indicated getting on the tram and going through some small market etc....Bob and Lea (the 2 dogs) are just adorable, would definitely stay there again on... This would not be the place for you if you were expecting chic French luxury. However, it did have bags of character and a hospitable and helpful landlady. Villa Saphir is 3 tram stops up from the centre and then about a five minute walk through a local market. The tram is frequent and cheap. Villa Saphir is an old... More

Villa Saphir is excellent value for a city as expensive as Nice and the host, Annie, goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome, she is happy to lend umbrellas, bicycles and anything else that her guests may need. The free internet was a good facility as was free use of a communal fridge and cooking facilities. The... More
