COMMUNICATION: Oddly enough, my greatest complaint with L’Epicerie had to do with my e-mail contact with owner, Luc. He was very slow at responding to my inquiries. In fact, had I not already sent him my credit card number, I might have given up on him and looked elsewhere out of frustration. LOCATION: On a quiet street off a large... More

We were very comfortable at this simple but cozy bed and breakfast. The decorating scheme was trés cute, and the view over the gardens in the city center charming. Warning ! There was no shampoo/conditioner and the breakfast was just bread and pastries. I admit I would have liked some fruit and/or yogurt/cereal options as well. But, well, this is... More

This is an excellent B&B that is easily reached from the local bus station (about 15 minute walk). Luc is very sweet. The bedroom was lovely with a clawfoot bathroom and was on a quiet street. Breakfast was served downstairs in his restaurant and was a big breakfast, by French standards. The restaurant is decorated with all sorts of old... More

Luc has recently started to do lunches on certain days, and we found that whilst many street cafes and restaurants in central Aix were empty at lunchtime in February, L'epicerie soon filled to capacity. Mostly locals taking advantage of good home cooking. Soup, choice of 2 mains and either tea/coffee or dessert for 13 euros. My husband is vegetarian and... More

My mother and I stayed with Luc at L'epicerie for one night on our February tour of several towns in the south of France. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. L'epicerie is perfectly located in the center of town. The "salon de thé" downstairs where Luc welcomed us and served us breakfast in the morning was charmingly decorated... More

We stayed here for two nights in the Canelle room and decided to extend our stay because we loved it so much. Breakfasts - are amazing, original and like everything about this place, entirely home made. I mean, who serves tea out of a huge bowl? And eats a duck gratin for breakfast? With homemade cake and bread and jams?... More

I loved the atmosphere of the L´epicerie. Very near of the Old Aix, and besides very good restaurants and attractions. The owner, Guy, is very kind, “trés simpatique” and guide you to the best places to go. All the tips the he gave us about the restaurants of Aix in Provence were unforgettable gastronomical experiences. I´m sure that we´ve been... More

L'epicerie is exceptionally cute in every way. The decor is quirky and thoughtful and the room we stayed in - calisson - was huge with it's own sitting room and a very unusual bathroom (you'll see if you book it). Luc was an amazing host and his breakfasts are absolutely incredible. I became a little obsessed with his homemade jams.... More

We had a lovely time in this bed and breakfast. Luc, the owner, made us feel very welcome: he prepared different regional specialities every morning for breakfast (all delicious!) and he was always happy to give trip or sightseeing recommendations. The guesthouse itself is very tasteful and pretty - we stayed in two different rooms and liked both a lot.... More
