My wife and I have always wanted to see the landing beaches, and the Novotel in Bayeux certainly served as a base. The hotel is a little tired but is very adequate. The room (superior) was OK, and was clean. Staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little out of town and you definitely need... More

I stayed at this hotel during a whirlwind tour of Normandy and the D-Day beaches. Because of its location, I made it my "base of operations" and was easily able to explore surrounding towns like Arromanches, Caen, Carentan and Sainte-Mère-Église, among others. The hotel is lovely - bright, open, and airy, with rooms that are clean, comfortable, spacious and modern.... More

The hotel is located very close to the old town and easy access to the beaches. The room was spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable. No complaints at all. Tip: there is a great restaurant, reasonably priced called L'Assiette Normande. It is located in the old town across from the church. They serve excellent meals made with fresh local produce. Loved... More

We booked this hotel as a base to explore the Normandy Beaches. We stayed for 3 nights in a superior room which was perfect for me, my husband and son. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The hotel was lovely, the staff were friendly and breakfast although limited in choice (standard continental) was plentiful. We couldnt fault any aspect... More

This hotel was much better than I expected after spending several days in Paris. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful (more so than in Paris) and spoke decent English. As other reviews indicate, the hotel is conveniently located about a 10-15 minute walk from old town and about 20 minutes from the d-day beaches. The hotel staff was very... More

I had booked this hotel and then read some of the disappointing reviews All I can say it that they are not correct. The hotel is excellent value for money. it is not shabby the bedroom was clean and comfortable Admittedly it is a walk to the town but with a car 2 minutes away Not sure why some people... More
