This guest house is quaint and charming, steeped in Bayeux history. The lady running the house does'nt speak English but this was not a problem as she is friendly and kind. Room was old french style with a modern bathroom, great shower and all perfectly clean. Breakfast was continental and light, no tea/coffee in the bedroom. public carpark nearby. Great location... My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon in late March/early April of 2011, and loved the place. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was really yummy!! Ask for the hot chocolate. Even though we had a language barrier with a staff member, she was friendly and we were able to communicate and figure out what time to... More

We were greeted by the lovely lady owner who took us to our room. The room was very spacios, with a grand bathroom, small sitting room, balcony and a very nice decor. The location is ideal, two minutes walk fro the cathedral and within walkable distance to all the attractions and restaurants if Bayeyx. We had a good continental breakfast;... More

The initial impression is that you have stepped out of the Tardis into a 1950's British seaside boarding house, with lots of rules, like don't use the front door, use the tradesman's entrance at the side etc.. But beware first impressions Madame is lovely, and keen to provide for her guests. Like others. we had to go to the hotel... More

Greeted by a delightful hostess. The art-Deco building with its granite and bronze staircase, beautiful lighting and classic furniture cannot fail to impress. The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable with a large, heated bathroom. An added bonus was the private balcony looking out to the cathedral of Notre Dame. Breakfast was excellent value. The location couldn't have been better... More

We stayed three nights at this guest house. In room #6 for two nights and then room #1 for one night. Room #6 was the quieter of the two; they were both very nice and clean. Anthony, the owner, was very helpful. Although we did not meet in person, he was very helpful via the phone. Anthony's mother manages Le... More

Upon arriving to Bayeux, we had no difficulty finding this charming B&B; however, as others have indicated, no one was there to check us in. I followed the sign to another family owned B&B a few doors down, and met the son. He called back to Le Castel and was able to speak to his mother and let her know... More

The location of this b&b is excellent, within easy walking distance (5-10 mins) to the tourist office, ATMs, places to eat, the Bayeux Tapestry. There is free car parking available, although it is a public car park, so be aware that access to it depends on how many people are using the car park. It's quiet overnight, but there is... More

Ok, Madame Monique has no english. But for sure is possible to get along well with some good will. Walking distance from the train station (5 minutes) and city centre is one minute walking. Nice and confortable room and good breakfast for 6,50 euros per person. All in all, a wonderful and charming place to stay with very good value. More

We arrived at this guesthouse to find a sign that said to go down the road to another hotel to find someone to wait on us. Kinda a bad sign. So, I tracked down the hostess, who showed us into the lobby and explained to my French-speaking wife the particulars of the room from the stairwell downstairs. We were unclear... More
