We wanted to be in the Verdun area to explore the forts relating to WWI but did not want to be in the centre of town and this hotel seemed ideal. We were warmly greeted by the owner who wellcomed us with a glass of his own very alcoholic produce. The room was small but the bathroom was even smaller... More

This is a great place to stay. I would definatly come back! This is a slice of life in the slow paced and relaxed French countryside, a no frills treat to experience life as the French do in this reagion. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel in the French countryside, then maybe you need to stay in... More

A very strange place. There is a sign pointing to reception but there is none. About five minutes after our arrival a woman appeared in the driveway and asked for our name and then showed us to our room. That was the last we saw of her. The room was clean and comfortable but we could not access the wifi... More

We had a little trouble finding anyone when we checked in, but the owner offered coffee in the restaurant. He led us to our room, and I'm pretty sure it was a handicapped room. (Tulip Room) There were 2 single beds and a very large bathroom with a huge shower with no shower curtain. Since we were on the first... More

My husband and i stayed here en-route to Switzerland with our 2 dogs. we were given a nice big room with lots of space. The hotel is a logis, which i didnt realise when i booked. It was a little rundown, but in a good way. If you dont like chain hotels, and enjoy a more personal friendly experience then i... More

I actually booked this hostel by mistake. I dialed their number thinking it was for le relais, which is not far. This is probably the most expensive dialing mistake I ever made. The lady on the phone (the boss' wife) was not reallu friendly and did us the 'it's the last bedroom for tonight, give me your credit card number'... More

We stayed here for one night. The rooms were clean, themed but a bit tired. We had the meal which was quite nice but very overpriced for a country inn type place. The waitress got most of our order wrong. We live in France so know what things cost. The bottle of house wine was 17 euros, we later saw... More

This place certainly has potential. The buildings and grounds are really old and neat with lots of stone. I don't know why we couldn't warm up to this place. Something about it felt odd or unfinished. The owners were very warm and friendly. They didn't speak much if any English, so we didn't talk to them much. Our room was... More

We enjoyed our two nights at Le Village Gaulois. We did have a very difficult time finding it, but I blame that on Google maps; if you're going here, map for the town, not the B&B (it's a tiny town; I guarantee you won't miss the B&B!). Problem is that there are several roads that share a number. It's in... More

Located in Marre away from Verdun in a country town. The room was clean and nice, our 11 year old enjoyed the one night stay. The family is friendly and helpful. The hotel provides a quite country stay with a good restaurant. There is very good access to the Verdun battlefield with out going through traffic or large towns. Plenty... More
