At first glance, the St. James Albany seems like a great place to stay in Paris for any occasion. The location is wonderful. But beyond that, this hotel is pretty awful. This was a last minute choice for me as my other hotel overbooked. Incredibly overpriced, the hotel rooms are more like 1 star, not the 4 star promise of... More

Quirky hotel, with lots of character, but needs a makeover really as it's looking a bit tired. Rooms are varying (i've stayed a few times), with one with a very old bit of dividing wall with old beams which was huge. The pool is dimly lit, usually quiet, long enough to have a decent swim, and quite relaxing. Restaurant's great... More

We had the junior suite for our weekend stay and it was a very nice room with plenty space and nice features. There was 2 TV's and a mini bar in the room. The location is excellent for sightseeing with the Louvre, Champs Elysees and Place De La Concorde very close. I found staff helpful and polite. The hotel pool... More

This Hotel is a joke. Nice reception, but beyond the reception the real hotel is revealed. Pokey, dirty and outdated rooms. The a/c is a joke. Paris was very humid during my stay and the room temp unbearable. The a/c was not working and I was advised by the hotel that it was too early in the season to switch... More

This hotel is in a great location, across from the Tuillieries gardens and metro stop, 5 minutes walk to the Louvre and 10 mins walk to the Musee D'Orsay. The front desk and concierge are all wonderful and friendly. They have a very good restaurant whose prices are comparable to the brasseries and restaurants in the local area, however the... More

This was our third trip to Paris and we chose this hotel because of its location. We knew it costs a bit more than others but given our past experiences in what could only be described as "dives" we took a chance that this was going to be reasonable. Firstly, it cannot be beaten for location. It is about fifty... More

Stayed in a small 1 bedroom apartment located just off the hotel lobby. The decore is dated and the courtyard view was quiet depressing. On the plus side the apartment was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The apartment was also incredibly quiet, impressive for its location in the heart Paris tourism district. We loved having a washing machine, which... More

Travelled 5-7 May with family. Both standard rooms were small & scruffy. 627 had big white stains on carpet and dirty marks on ceiling from aircon. TV signal broke up continually. Poor toiletries and towels. Refuse truck depot or similar nearby so noisy from 6 am. Corridors dull, lifts very creaky and public areas sterile. Position good but at £160... More

We stayed in May 2012. The reception was very nice as were the seated areas but the hotel rooms were really quite basic. The pool area was pretty nice but I would never have gone to the beauty spa as it was totally overpriced. 270 Euros for a facial is a little steep in my view. The location is perfect... More
