Although shared, the bathrooms were very clean. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very well located near gare de l'est. For the price charged its the best option i've stayed in Paris. There's no elevator so travel light.

I only stayed in Paris for one night and didn't really want to spend more than I had to, so this seemed perfect for me in terms of price and location- it was really easy to get to from the coach station and I didn't want to confuse myself with changing metro lines and all that. I travelled alone for... More

For the price, Hotel Liberty is of fair value. It is centrally located and easily accessed via the Metro (subway) and close to the train station. Plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area too. This is a no frills hotel that doesn't pretend to be more. We stayed in one of their low end rooms that contained a bed... More

Located in a bored corner. the hotel should be classified among a dormitory for homeless people. Stairs are covered with a very awfull bad and old stuff. Very old toilet with bad location. Narrow hallway as a jail. The ground its self has never been renovated since the hotel´s first opening day . In the room`s ceiling a big crack,... More

If 70 pounds a room (ensuite) is "budget" for you, then this hotel is your option, but personally I booked it bc I didn't have a choice, all the res "decent" hotels were fully booked when I made my search. Anyway, the bad: - the rooms smell always to Tobacco and cigarrettes, the carpet, the curtains, the sheets, EVERYTHING. -... More

Paris is expensive enough why waste monies on a room your only going to sleep in stayed here for 5 nights everything was to an acceptable standard but you definatly get what you pay for. If your expecting mints on your pillow this is not the hotel for you as if like us your room was on the top floor... More

We stayed in two budget hotels in Paris before moving to a more upmarket hotel for a longer stay. For our first four days we decided to try Hotel Liberty, instead of our usual choice, Appi Hotel. Both were the same price, give or take a euro, and were similar in many ways. Of the two we prefer Appi, but... More

After reading a few reviews, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel was in a pretty average area of Paris. The area was not rough at all and the location was perfect fo our sight seeing trip! Hotel is literally next door to a police station if you do feel unsafe. The spiral staircase up to all the... Hotel Liberty is conveniently located next to 3 different metro stops, and there are plenty of good/cheap places to eat right around it. It's a decent choice for the budget traveler who may have outgrown the hostels. You do get what you pay for, however. The rooms are small, hot, and kinda grungy (but not disgusting). The staff is helpful... More

Stayed at the hotel in April 2012 (two nights). Location is not bad: close to three metro stations, train station, not far from the Opera (20-25min walk), but the parallel street (from the train station to the hotel) is a sort of "immigrants ghetto". Our room was terrible- dirty, the bathroom has many stains, bed coverlet has grease stains. No... More
