Stopped off here for a night on a journey down to Spain. Hotel is an old chateau and the room, although small, was full of character and had all the amenities. Food and service were very good indeed. Great if you are looking for a base for the chateaux of the Loire or a stopover on a drive down South... More

We recently stayed at La Tortiniere for several days. The property is in a great location for visiting many of the major Chateaus in the Loire Valley, with many within 20 to 40 minutes drive, and thus easy to arrive early and avoid the crowds which build up during the day. The standard of the accommodation is very good, and... More

We do not often stay at a 4 star hotel, but this Chateau was worth it in all respects. The welcoming was very friendly and relaxed. The chateau was beautiful with lovely view and grounds. the dinner was truly "haute cuisine" and presented in a very artistic way. If on a budget, just save and splurge, as it is hard... More

Simply brilliant. We had two nights here. My only criticism was on arrival where they tried to up sell the room we had booked. They showed us the up selling room in an annexe with an amazing room (35 euros per night extra making it 210 euro a night) and then took us up three flights of stairs in the... More

We stayed two nights at this lovely chateau. The room, the service and the food were great! And the location is perfect if you are driving around the Loire Valley.

Stayed here for two nights for a special occasion and made an excellent choice. It was far more expensive than our usual choice of "stop-overs" on the way from Dieppe to the Costa Tropical in Spain, but well worth it. Xavier on the front desk spoke perfect Englsih and had a nice, dry, sense of humour that made us feel... More

Stayed at Domiane de la Tortiniere as part of our honeymoon. Easy train ride from Paris to Tours, then 9km to domaine de la toriniere which is situated in the heart of chateau/ castle country. We chose this place as it is the closest chateau hotel from tours train station and trip advisor reviews. We experienced Brilliant service, superb restaurant... More

This is a lovely hotel with exceptional service. It feels very friendly, and not at all imposing or intimidating. The location is very pretty and quiet, and it's a good base to explore the Loire from.

Domaine de la Tortiniere offers a charming experience. The hotel is beautifully appointed, the service superb and the dining room excellent. The location is ideal for visiting the castles of the Loire Valley. We spent evenings in the luxurious salon enjoying warm hospitality in spite of the unseasonably cool spring weather. The Toriniere's only challenge is maintaining its own high... More

I can't say enough about this place, we loved it! Came by train from Pairs for a one night respite from the city. The train to Tours was very easy and took a cab to the hotel. It is completely charming and we were greeting as long lost friends. Walked the grounds and then had a glass of wine overlooking... More
