Really enjoyed our time at this quaint little hotel. Nothing to complain about except our time was too short there. Make sure, if you get the chance to pop out to the light show which was out of this world. Will certainly be heading back to this hotel.

We stayed overnight in Chartres (to visit the amazing cathedral) and spent a comfortable night at Hotel du Boeuf Couronne. We had a double and though the room was on the smallish side, it had big swing out windows and another small window in the bathroom. All made it more airy. There was a bit of noise from tour buses... The hotel is a nice place, well positioned just steps from the Cathedral and all the town of Chartres has to offer, and only about 250 metres from the train station. Ideal for a short stopover and very well priced too. It has an elevator – the tiniest I’ve ever seen but it does the job. The pluses: Every member... More

From the train station, this nice hotel is a pleasant, two-block walk up a gently-sloping hill. If you’re looking for basic food, you’ll pass several such restaurants along the way. Otherwise, the hotel has a more formal restaurant. But its prices are reasonable, the food was great, and it was jam packed the night we ate there. Plus, they offer... More

Simply and stylishly decorated with a contemporary look. This hotel has the basic amenities. Great location, handy to Cathedral dining and shopping. But when the sun goes down, the night life in the bar with its band is so loud we could hear it on the third floor with the windows closed.

I stayed at this hotel a few years back in 2007 when I was a French language assistant in a nearby city. I thought the hotel was charming and lovely and needed some touch ups. Fast forward to 2012 when I come back and stay at the hotel. Things have changed here. The bar next door is now a part... More

Newly refurbished to a modern style, funky bar, destination restaurant. 3mins from Catherdral across an open square. About 5mins from main shopping street. Not what you expect from a regional French hotel. Very modern. We parked in the underground 'Catherdral' car park. Can't remember price other than thinking 'that was alright'! Very good option. Chartres itself is lovely, lots of... More

The hotel looks new inside, but is still romantic.Comfortable beds and good shower. Good location, walking distance from the cathedral. Staff was nice too, and price is fair for what you get. Stayed in a room facing the street behind the hotel, with almost no traffic in the streets. I wold reccomend that, since the street in front the hotel... More

First of all, I could not find this hotel listed on TripAdvisor because its name is spelled incorrectly here: it should be Hotel le Boeuf Couronne...not du Boeuf Couronne. I found this little gem though Rick Steves' France book. I expected it to be a vintagey French-style hotel, but our charming room was very contemporary with an entirely slick, new... More

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel, and we have found it an extremely convenient stop. It is in easy walking distance from the cathédrale car park, where we parked overnight. We walked up to the cathedral where we were able to enjoy "live" music in the outside bars. We ate back at our hotel, and... More
