The hotel is a 5 minute drive from Vézelay and has distant views over the Basilique. The room was comfortable enough and of very good size. Stayed one night here while passing through Burgundy, and were delighted to find such a comfortable friendly hotel with stunning views of the hill and basilica from the rear windows, both in the bedroom and the very pleasant dining room. ... a wonderful hotel across the valley from the nearby hilltop town of Vezelay. The views of Vezelay are spectacular, especially in the early morning where the fog fills the valley below, and at sunset, where the sun sets behind the Basilique Sainte Madeleine. We booked this hotel thru France Balloons. The location was lovely but not close enough to the very beautiful town of Vezelay. The staff was friendly but didn't speak any English. The restaurant was very good with a nice view but the rooms seriously needed updating. The area is great for local touring but I would recommend staying in Vezelay. More
