The location is excellent, especially if arriving by train, as it is about a ten minute walk from the station and about the same to the old town. The reception area is a little bleak, but don't be put off as the refurbished (2011) guest accommodation is modern and comfortable. The bedrooms are perfectly adequate and clean and the flooring... The friendly, willing-to-indulge-our-bad-French but perfectly capable speaking English when we faltered proprietor was the best thing at this hotel. He gave us great tips for restaurants, sites, and enjoying ourselves in the 2 days we had in Dijon. Our room was clean but I think it must be on the remodel "to do" list. The lobby is nearly nonexistent and... More

We went to the Hotel Montchapet just for 1 night on the Easter Sunday. The only bad thing is the check in time which was 5pm. Would have been nice to be able to check in by 2pm. But never mind this really was the only bad thing about it......... Lovely room with flat screen TV, bathroom with shower, wardrobe,... More

Very impressed, rooms were small but cosy and clean, staff were very friendly and hotel had a nice vibe. Dijon rained for all of the 3 days I was there but at least the hotel room was comfortable! More

Stayed there for 2 nights. Our room was on the 2nd floor, freshly renovated, with 2 queen beds as requested. Everything went smoothly, the staff was nice and helpful. More

My wife and 2 small children stayed in a 2 queen bed quad room in September for one night to break the journey from Paris to the South. We got lucky and were able to park immediately in front of the hotel in a free spot on the street. Check in was efficient and were were provided with a password... More

We stayed in this hotel over the week-end. Convenient location within walking distance from the historical center of DIJON but the hotel is very average! It has been renovated and redecorated recently but the rooms are rather small and those overlooking the main street are quite noisy in spite of the double glazing. The building in itself is old-fashioned. More

There is nothing fancy about Hotel Montchapet and it is a typical two-star hotel. The room is small, the amenities are minimal, and the breakfast is little more than a baguette with jam. It's within walking distance of the train station (about 15 minutes pulling luggage), but even closer to the old town tourist spots. The neighborhood was quiet and... More

I chose Hotel Monchapet based on the proximity between the train station and the town centre. Also, I learnt from other reviews that the whole town of Dijon was undergoing roadworks for a tramline, and noisy roadworks that began early. This hotel was a little off the main track in a quiet neighbourhood, so fit the bill. I paid 55... More

While staying here, my wife was not feeling too well. The innkeeper picked up on this when I asked where I could get some soup to-go (apparently not the done thing in France), and when I said she just needed some soup because she was feeling ill, he offered to heat some up in the kitchen, and brought it up...
