Our second visit but this time we were accompanied by 4 friends on our recommendation. It was every bit as good as we remembered, and Clive and all his staff could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. It's a stunning building in a beautiful setting. Our room ( a Superior ) had a very comfortable bed and luxurious... More

We stayed 3 nights in a suite and had the degustation dinner on two nights.(overkill ...dont eat lunch) The accomodation was superb and the food & wine also. The artwork and decor is beautiful and matches perfectly. We would go there again, but not on a budget.make sure to walk the grounds, they are beautiful.Make friends with the goose and... More

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the facility that is a former convent. The room was luxurious and the shower was big enough to park a Smart Car. The grounds are also interesting and we enjoyed seeing the pet horses up close. However, I would not recommend it for hard core sightseers like ourselves. It is a long distance... More

We stayed at this hotel for three nights last week. We made a reservation 5 months in advance and had deposited 30% of total stay as down payment. When we arrived there in the evening the receiving staff was very professional and pleasant. We had dinner there and it was better than a typical Michelin one star restaurant in terms... More

We stayed here for just one night last week. From the moment we arrived we were captivated! What a stunning location and hotel. Clive, the owner was the perfect host and his team were exceptional. We have been fortunate enough to eat in many good restaurants but the food here surpassed any- 2 stars must be in order! Thank you-... More

I have stayed at the Abbaye several times over the past four years and it just gets better and better. Always first class service from all staff, fabulous food in the most stunning setting. More

If you enjoy unparalleled elegance, tranquility, gourmet food, rooms with every amenity, warm and welcoming staff, surrounding natural beauty, even friendly ponies grazing on the lawn and ducks gliding across the pond, get thee to the Abbaye! In the five days we recently spent there, we enjoyed wonderful meals, lovely walks along a nearby canal, bike rides, a trip to... More

We stayed at l'Abbaye on our way back from the Alps en route to England. From the moment we entered the gates and saw the stunning buildings and gardens, our experience was perfect. The warm welcome from Mike and the staff was also very refreshing for a hotel of this standard (sometimes staff can be rather snooty in luxury hotels),... More

We booked this place because of the location and excellent offer. Took a while to get there through torrential rain but we were warmly welcomed and shown an excellent room in the top of the house overlooking the estate. The comfiest bed and quietest night of our trip, no banging doors, no passing cars, just a really calm environment. The... More

I took my wife here for her Birthday in November. We have seen previous reviews, and as we love Burgundy (food, wine and people - but not necessarily in that order!!), I decided to spoil her. Spoil is an understatement here. The owners, Clive and Tanith are wonderful and very knowlegeable of the area (it is incidentally very much nearer... More
