We have stayed at this hotel on 4 or 5 occasions now and always find it charming. It has changed quite a lot since our first visit with new rooms being added in the gardens and a self service breakfast bar offering a good selection of sweet & savoury choices to guests. Le capucins is centrally located in Avallon. It looks nice on the outside and the entrance in the garden located at the back is nice and quiet. The rooms located there look nice and new but were stull under construction (during daytime). The rooms in the "main building" however, are disappointing, at least my room was. The room was old... Travelling with my husband and elderly Mother, we stayed at Les Capucins overnight to break our 800mile drive. We received a warm welcome having booked only two days before, the rooms were clean and extremely comfortable especially the room for my Mother which was adapted for an elderly/ less mobile person on the ground floor. I have recently been to les capucins, during our last trip to France, and found it a nice place to stay. nothing extraordinary, but the restaurant was really good and the hotel roim at a very reasonable price. More
