I think the hostess summed it up nicely during her free wine tasting, "it's not exactly Chateau Pommard"... this is a nice place to stay at a good price, hospitality and service were exemplary. Nice wines, good price, short detour from motorway, easily positioned between major routes, Chablis, Beaune etc. Rooms were functional and simple, standard French B&B grade, good... More

While the accomodation is not first class the dinner was. We started with quiche, followed by roast duck and some choclate fondant. It was served by the friendly local chef who was charming. Just be aware she can not speak English but we had heaps of friendly travellers around who could which was helpful for us single language Australians! The... More

We would have struggled to find the place without SatNav, and as it was, we arrived fairly late. However, we were just in time for the evening meal. The meal was quite simple and was nothing special, but was quite adequate, and we were able to drink as much local wine as we wanted - a different wine for each... More

On arrival it took ten minutes wandering around before we could find anyone to help us. There were no facilities to provide hot drinks, only an honour fridge. The room was a good size but needs updating and a proper clean, as does the bathroom which had black mould round the bath and no plug in either bath or sink.... More

Excellent accommodation in an old building furnished with character. Comfortable room. The enjoyable first class meals were accompanied by their wines. A free tour of the wine cellars could be arranged. The family were friendly and hospitable. Escolives has a noteable Roman archeological site and the medieval city centre of Auxerre is a few minutes drive to the North. A... More

We found this place because we needed a one night stop over ... We arrived late but found out earlier by email that this would be too late to have dinner there, so no surprises. We had booked a triple and instead we got a separate apartment which can sleep 5 (or even more). While the place is not too... More

We (two couples) had booked two rooms months ago. We arrived at Domaine Borgnat after a long day of traveling through France. We had copies of our reservation and confirmation. When we tried to check in we were told that there were no rooms available even though we had a reservation. We were told that 'mother' had made the mistake... More

Went to the winetasting which was good fun. Room clean and there was more than adequate space. Bed a bit hard for our taste but that is personal choice. The glory of this place was the guests all eating together and the excellent food and wine served made this a really fun place to spend an evening. One of the... More

We stayed here for one night over a long holiday weekend. The actual B&B building is in a structure shaped with a courtyard in the middle. In fact, we learned that the B&B was upstairs to the winery with the family restaurant attached to it. We really liked our bedroom - the room itself had exposed wood beams and charming... More

A character packed B&B situated in a tiny and delightful village in rural Burgundy - Regine and Benjamin are delightful hosts and the wine tasting is a must. Dinner, which is served with the Domaine's own wine (and plenty of it!), is first class - rural French cooking at its best. Although a bit off the beaten track I'd thoroughly... More
