We called into this hotel on the offchance that they would have a room. Unfortunately they did! The room was sparse and clinical, the type of room that I would expect in a youth hostel. We had the misfortune to eat there in the evening which wasn't too bad. Breakfast was edible but there wasn't much of it! It is...

We traveled through France for our honeymoon and stayed in Beynac for three nights in June 2011. We selected the Hotel du Chateau based on the recommendation in Rick Steve's guide and we were quite pleased. We had an upstairs room with a balcony. Our room was pretty small and the shower and sink area were pretty small too, but...

We hadn't a reservation and this is probably the only hotel nearby Beynac castle.
If you are going to spend one night only that's a tolerable hotel.
Our room had an awful cigarette smoke smell. Bathroom is old and didn't seem clean.
I recommend you to spend the night in another village.

We loved this hotel!
You couldn't possibly find a more wonderful place for a first trip to the Dordogne region at this price point.
The hotel delivers on everything it promises: a remarkable location, very warm and helpful hosts, an excellent traditional dining room, air conditioning, and even a swimming pool tucked into the stone rooftops. Right across the street...

What a find! We loved this restaurant and would definitely return if in the area. We ran into the restaurant from the pouring rain, and we were shown a table immediately. Even though we were soaking wet, we did not get a chill from the restaurant; the temperature was wonderful.
Two of us ordered set menus, which had many options;...

Hotel du Chateau is perfectly situated in the lovely, one-stop sign village of Beynac-et-Ceznac outside of the busier and more well-known town of Sarlat. It sits directly across from the Dordogne River, at the base of a hill topped by an imposing medieval castle . . . one of many in this region steeped in a long history of brave...

Our room was clean and comfortable with space for our cases and a large bathroom and was good value for the tariff they charge. We were concerned when we arrived about street noise, but once we closed the double gazed window the noise was minimul. There is very little noise or traffic after 6.30 pm when the tourists have departed...

The hotel is situated in Beynac et Cazenac, one of the 'Villages de Charme" that dot the Dordogne River. It is nestled beneath the Chateau Baynac, an imposing castle that dates back to the Middle Ages. The hotel itself dates back to the Middle Ages and its accommodation is comfortable and very good value especially when you take the 'half...

This hotel is in a beautiful location. The room was large and quiet. Unfortunately we were too sick to eat here.
