You really can't complain about a hotel which is friendly, cheaper than a B and B and slap bang in the centre of a major city. We have now stayed 3 times which has to be a commendation. Rooms are not large and the decor can be a little tired and grubby, but the important things are clean - towels,... More

This is a tired hotel that could do with a facelift. The comunal areas are ok and the internal courtyard adds nice light and greenery to the lobby however my room was pretty tatty. Given the central location of the hotel it wasn't a surprise that there is a lot of road noise, but it was quite hard to sleep.... More

I had a perfectly pleasant experience at this hotel. Five star it isn't, but it doesn't charge five star prices. It has a great location about 5 mins from the station and right next to Piccadilly Gardens. All the shops, cafes and restaurants are within two minutes' walk. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful, the room was... More

I stayed at this hotel together with three friends in April 2012. We came to Manchester to watch football. Gardens Hotel is a small budget hotel with average standard. The location is central and the staff is friendly. We never ate in the hotel, we had breakfast at nearby pubs. I would recommend the hotel to everyone that doesn't want... More

This hotel is a reasonable options for those traveling on a budget. As my husband was attending a conference at the University, we wanted a hotel centrally located and within easy walking distance to the Uni for him (20 minutes) and the city centre (10 minutes) for me and the Piccadily Train station. It is also close the China Town... More

I could not stay another second. this place was filthy.I checked in at around 10pm and I had to step over somone sleeping in the doorway to get to reception... More

Stayed here back in December 2009, got a cheap rate on late rooms (£49 per night for a twin room). The room was fairly small, but clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a GREAT location right in the city centre, and it has a small but functional residence bar where we sought out a nightcap or three! Very pleasant... More

I spent two nights in The Gardens hotel in February. The location of the hotel could not have been better, with the Arndale and the train station so close by. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms were considelably smaller than they appear on the pictures and the hotel building in itself gave the impression of... More
