If you are travelling to the South East, perhaps towards Arklow and don't want to stay in the town itself, but prefer the peace and quiet of the countryside, yet want to be near enough for a round of golf in the beautiful surroundings of Woodenbridge,, then look no further than Maeve and Aidan O'Connors' homely and welcoming Bed &... The best accommodation to be found in the area. Close enough to Arklow but far enough away to be quiet. The welcoming tea and scones are legendary in my mind. My room looked across the countryside to Croghan Mountain. My bed was nice and cosy. Breakfast was lovely. Nothing was a problem to Maeve and Aidan. I hope to return... More

We had a really warm welcome with tea and freshly baked scones and a nice chat with the son of the host Maeve. We got a bedroom for four persons which was really big, light and cosy. The bathroom was light, big and clean, too. Although there were other guests in the B&B we didn't hear anything in the night.... More

We spent a week traveling all around Ireland, staying overnight in a different city each night. (Dublin, Dundalk, Londonderry, Galway, Cork) Staying here the sixth night made me wish we had booked every night there and changed our plans to spend the week in just southeast Ireland. The owners were so wonderfully hospitable, and delightful company! It is a very... More

Before we came to The Gables, I and Maeve had mailcontact. She had written such a welcoming and friendly letter to me at the booking. We felt very welcomed and wellcared at the Gables. The afternoon-tea was excellent and the breakfast as well! The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. It was our first night on Ireland, and we slept very... More
