We arrived following a recommendation by the Tourist Office in Athlone. How lucky for us that we were sent to Kajon House set in such a beautiful rural setting. Kate welcomed us warmly with tea and delicious home made scones. We were then given good advice on visiting local areas of interest. We returned for a delicious evening meal prepared... More

We arrived late in the day without a reservation and were greeted with so much friendliness and care it was very refreshing! We were very fortunate there were two rooms available for us (outside of peak season mind you), because this was one of the best places we stayed during our two week stay in Ireland. The hospitality was genuine... More

It is a wonderful place to be. The rooms are very tidy and the food (dinner and breakfast) was very, very good. But what I will remember most will be the couple running this BB. Although we arrived without reservations were greeted like we have been awaited. My mum summarised it very well: It's like staying with friends.

I cant recommend this B&B highly enough. My fiance and I love Ireland but on our recent trip to the country were keen to explore the centre of Irelend and find the 'real Ireland'. We had read about this B&B and the county in various guide books and we weren't disappointed by either. Kate and John are so welcoming -... More

The breakfast is unique and the fresh scones the best in ages. It's a great place to stay if you are travelling between Dublin and Galway and the nearest place... More

We stayed there recently and Kate and John were extremely friendly. This was the best breakfast we had in Ireland. We arrived very late in the afternoon and were lucky to get a vacancy but it was no trouble to our hosts. Highly recommend.

The B & B is a wonderful place to stay. The B & B is located very close to Clonmacnoise. There are not many places to stay. We got the tip from the tourist office. Kate and John were excellent hosts and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. We also had a delicious dinner.

A lovely place to stay, Kate and John were very friendly. We stumbled upon this place late one evening as we wanted to stay in the vicinity of Clonmacnoise but there are not a lot options in this area. Rang the bell and kate greeted us as if we were old long lost friends. Apparently John is a excellent cook... More
