My friend and I arrived at the Almara House after a long, rainy car ride from the Cliffs of Moher and Doolin. We were tired and so happy to be greeted by Matt and Marie when we checked in at the Almara House. We were able to park our rental car in front of their B&B property and go right... More

Arrived after a long ride from Dublin, the welcome by the owners couple was warm and inviting. The rooms are very, very, tidy, quiet and spacious. Free WiFi is available (high speed connection). First appearances are deceiving; it seems you are ending up in a new estate / suburban city extension but the truth is that the location and accommodation... More

Matthew provided excellent recommendations for dining and a good local pub with great Trad music. Both Matthew and Marie were excellent host, went above and beyond at ever step. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable. There was a great variety of breakfast options and everyone in our group got plenty to eat and enjoyed every bite. We were somewhat... More

Literally like visiting your relatives, Matt & Marie are incredibly welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are lovely, well furnished and cosy. The tea tray and biscuits on the landing is a lovely touch too. One night we even had Ferrero Rocher! The breakfasts (which are included in the price) are fabulous, the most unique and individual anywhere... More

I was going into the Galway Clinic for some minor surgery followed by two days in-house recovery and observation. My wife and I booked in the night before, for 4 days to allow for complications. Marie and Matt could not have been more helpful. It was a wet, cold night so Matt ferried us to The Huntsman for an excellent... More

Clean, comfortable and most reasonable. Great value. Matt and Marie are excellent hosts who could point out the best ways of getting around Galway and how to arrange tours of Connemara and the Cliffs. The breakfasts were excellent and got every day off to a good start. Highly recommend Almara House to Galway visitors.

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Almara House. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning which we choose from a good variety of options. Matt and Marie were extremely helpful and welcoming hosts. They went out of the way to help and even drove us to my cousins place as we were running late for her wedding. I... More

The rooms are excellent and the breakfast was great! We were there in June 2012 for 2 days. Matt and Wife were wonderful hosts, giving suggestions on what to see and even going out of his way to take us down town to the tour bus. I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful place!
