On its website, Aishling House looks very comfortable and homely which was why we chose to stay here. Indeed, inside it is cosy looking, with cute photos on the wall, though the general feeling is quite old-fashioned. When you get to your room, however, it's really nothing special. The bathroom tiles were grotty and could have done with a good...

Stayed for 1 night when hotel hosting a friend's wedding couldn't accommodate us the night beforehand - recommended by the bride. Was clean & spacious (bathroom would have benefitted from some upkeep, but that's being very picky!)
Didn't spend much time with owners when we arrived, but when we did it was very pleasant and business-like, however on the phone...

A very comfortable, clean B & B. Serves an excellent breakfast. The owners make you feel extremely welcome. Dublin City within walking distance. Would highly recommend this for the weary traveller.
Pros:
Very clean - bedroom, bathroom (en suite), hallway, dining room, front living room.
Tea, sugar, & coffee replenished daily.
Beds were comfortable.
Very quiet - no problem sleeping.
Large breakfast portions and choice - grapefruit segments, (tinned) plums, tangerine segments, (canned) peach halves, yoghout, muesli, rice crispies, cornflakes, bran flakes. Plus cooked breakfast options - sausages, egg, bacon, half...

This was the best accommodation we experienced on our six week, eleven countries trip. The bedroom was huge and beautifully decorated, the value for money was excellent, the owners were very hospitable, the breakfast was the best ever! The location is in a pleasant street, twenty minutes walk into Dublin city.
This b&b was not what I expected at all after reading the website! Creaking chair in room which felt like it was going to break at any moment. Was very disappointed with the hosts as well...they won't do much for the irish welcome either. I found they were very aloof and gave the impression they couldn't be bothered with you!...

This was our second visit to Aishling House. It is a bit off the beaten path in terms of central Dublin but easy to reach the heart of the city in 15 minutes on a bus which stops at the end of the block. It's a nice, quiet neighborhood close to restaurants and other services. The hosts Frances & Robert...

A really nice place. Everything you'd expect from a B & B in this price range, in fact. I just thought it lacked character, and the owner/manager/staff i spoke to didn't exactly make me feel very welcome. Like i said, good value for money, but there are some really really special places in Dublin, and this isn't one of those.
