I've been staying in hotels (the posher the better) for the past 15 years and had forgotten along the way what a great experience hostels can offer. This one in particular was great with very friendly staff, a big kitchen, links to loads of Dublin activities, perfect location, lots of communal space and generally very clean. My only gripe was... I booked 3 nights at Kinlay House and was pretty disappointed with the experience. For starters, the male staff I encountered were snarky, rude, and had a bad attitude. Every answer to questions I asked was responded with a sarcastic, cynical tone, and that was not appreciated. The rooms need updating-they were rundown and our toilet in our dorm ran... More

Wish this place was everywhere. Kitchen facilities. Breakfast. Tours. Laundry facilities. Very helpful staff. Quick walk to temple bar area and hop on hop off. Age range from kids to 70's while we were there. We were traveling with a wide age range and were very comfortable.

Me and my partner spent the holiday weekend in Dublin again and decided to go for another hostel. We stayed in the Generator last year, absolutely fab, clean and value for money, but not central. The location is excellent at Kinlay House and the staff are friendly and helpful. Now for the negatives! I booked direct through their website as... More

Well, I stayed there for three nights and it all was very good for me: they have a guitar to lend you, a nice space in the back with chairs and barrels that work as tables which brings you to a very nice pub, Guinness, music and Belgian beers as well. Clean rooms, very friendly people at the reception, clean... More

My fiancé and I stayed at Kinlay House hostel as part of a package with Shamrocker Adventures for St.Patrick's Day weekend. The hostel itself was very clean except the kitchen. We stayed in a private room with our own bathroom. The rooms are small but its a hostel, what do you expect. The wifi isn't the greatest, it stops working... More

It was a pleasant experience, except for intense cold! Bed linens are clean; the toilets are OK, and the evening atmosphere is great. Friday night is very noisy in all rooms but I think it's the same in all hostels in the world. The staff is very nice, except a skinny guy, very frustrated, full of tattoos on his hands,... More

We stayed for a week in January and cannot say enough what a wonderful experience it was. We rented in the 4 bed dorms and had a shared bathroom in our room. I personally did not feel uncomfortable sharing a room with male guests or sharing a bathroom. Our roommates were friendly and respectful. There are lockers for rent downstairs... More

I stayed here for a couple nights when I visited. Overall It was an ok experience. I would probably try something else if I had the choice though. The kitchen was great, fully stocked, free breakfast and wifi nice! Location was great! The beds seemed a little dirty and I didnt love the bathrooms being mixed. Overall the location was... More

My husband and son recently toured Ireland. The last leg of their trip was spent at Kinlay House. They wanted to be close to temple bar area but no desire to be in the heart of it. Kinlay staff were consistent in verifying we were actually guests. We also appreciated the swipe card entry. We were a little concerned with... More
