Just returned from our stay and cannot praise the owner enough. Arrived to a warm greeting of tea, coffee, biscuits. Every possible need was catered for. Wonderful modern premises, clean and spacious. Comfortable beds and a cosy environment to wile away the hours. Close to towns and cities. Livingstone retail therapy 10 miles away! Will definately return again.

We a family of 8 Indians wanted to see a typical English village and farm. Keeping this in mind we chose to stay at the Steading Cottage. The cottage was large, spacious and very well equipped will all the modern amenities required for a comfortable living. Every room had a personal touch to it. We found the property owner 'G'... More

We, a family of four with two (almost) teenage girls, had a lovely time on our latest visit to Crosswoodhill. Although there was some snow on the ground we got a warm welcome from the proprietrix 'G'. There is excellent shopping at Livingstone and the train into Edinburgh, with it's myriad attractions, is really convenient. We discovered Summerlee an excellent... More

We visited this cottage for a much needed relaxing break. We found it to be exactly what we were looking for and enjoyed our stay immensely. We loved the comfort, look and feel of the cottage and especially the unusual layout of the property. We hope to return again in the near future!

Myself and a team of 8 engineers stayed in three of the cottages as an alternative to hotels. We needed a central location with easy access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh for a two week period. It was about 30mins from Edinburgh, and 45mins from Glasgow. Livingston is only about 15min away. What originally started as a cost saving exercise,... More

We have visited this property twice now, and both times have found it perfect for our requirements. The accommodation is roomy, with a fully equipped kitchen. The Wing is very comfortable, with lots of interesting bits and pieces for our children to investigate, including books, games and, their very favourite, an old box of toy soldiers. As we have only... More

Everything needed for a relaxing break, great beds, great showers, kitchen, lovely fire, all the wood and peat you need. Lovely cottage in the middle of the farm, having been brought up on a farm I really... More

There is absolutely no reason not to stay here if you are in the area. I am working in the area and Crosswoodhill was in a super convenient location. Added to this is the exceptional range of facilities and the great attention to detail with which everything is presented. The laundry set-up is excellent, the beds and rooms are everything... More

I feel very lucky to have found and stayed in such a warm and welcoming place. Orlege itself has everything that anyone might need during a week's stay and more. Everything has been thought of for you. There is a massive folder of instructions for pretty much everything in the house. No sooner had I wondered whether there might be... More

Our brief stay in mid Feb 2013 at Orlege surpassed our expectations. We were wowed by the design of the internal space and the expanse of the natural landscape accessible from this property. The sense of peace within the house, made this a creative and inspiring place to 'be'. G's friendly welcome and attention to detail made us feel more like... More
