Stayed at the Bridgend for 1 night on a business trip, August 2011. When checking in, I was told that the key to my room had gone missing - no real harm done, I thought, so I had a joke about it with the manager who assured me that she would have a key with me shortly. After making numerous... More

This is a great hotel, friendly, comfortable and smart without bring snooty. Our rooms were all well appointed and nice. The public rooms were comfortable and traditional if a little cramped in places and of course there is a lovely garden to relax in. The food was great with something for everyone and a range of meals for all budgets... More

Whilst I didn't stay the night at the Bridgend Hotel I did sample two of delicous meals there. Firstly I had the venision burger which has to go down as one of the best burgers I've had the pleasure of tasting; and I've eaten a lot of burgers in my time! Secondly I had the local haddock and chips which... More

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Bridgend Hotel for a family wedding. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home and that nothing would be too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, the food was amazing and plentiful! Breakfast was again fantastic and there was an... More

Lorna and her staff at Bridgend Hotel were excellent in helping us plan our reception after we got married at Finlaggan. No mean feat as we live in the South of England and only managed one trip to the venue before our wedding! During this trip we spent an afternoon with Lorna going through the various options of how our... More

We stayed here as a party of seven for four nights whilst on a cycling holiday to Islay and Jura and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food, accommodation and friendly service were excellent. We loved the islands, too, and Bridgend Hotel is perfectly situated in the centre. Despite that, it is a surprisingly quiet and relaxing location. We'd love to visit... More

We arrived in the rain but, as we entered this lovely hotel, it was as if the sun had come out - thanks to the warm and welcoming staff. This brilliant small hotel has been wonderfully refurbished recently. The high standards of service are maintained and in most cases exceeded thanks to the fantastic efforts and attention to detail by... More

Acting on a article in "The Field " entitled "Treasured Islay" which gave a glowing report on The Bridgend Hotel we had sailed into Port Ellen in storm force conditions with 60 knot winds, eventually tying up in the lee of a large Dutch sailing vessel. Our table was booked for 8.00 pm, we tied up at 07.30pm and our... More

Central location is this places main bonus. Lorna the manager is in the middle of doing the place up, and I think it needs it. We had a nicely decorated room at the front of the hotel. Slight bit of road noise but a good nights sleep none the less. Breakfast is okay, with a nice choice. We took our... More

My wife and I (pus two Labs) spent six great nights with Lorna and her staff at Bridgend. Nothing was too much trouble - in fact we were almost told off for not highlighting my wife's dietary issues soon enough! Our room was huge, comfortable and very well appointed with loads of room for the dogs' beds. Breakfast offered the... More
