We stayed at two Macdonald hotels during a short sightseeing stay in Scotland, My father has not been well so we called both hotels and the rooms were ready when we arrived so he could rest. The staff were fantastic, Kerry, Caroline, Judy on the reception, Thomas in the bar/lounge and not forgetting the hotel manager Andrew. Andrew could not... More

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay, the feedback is most welcome. I was sorry that you had felt that you had been ''shunted'' out of the way during your stay however it was done with all of the best intentions by our reservations team. As you quite correctly pointed out we did... More

We booked a superior room, having been to this hotel before, and got one with a superb view of the Loch on the ground floor. The week before arriving we got a phone call to say that we could have an upgrade to a feature room for a small increase in cost. We accepted this, but it was a bad... More

Stayed only overnight for a wedding so unable to provide a comprehensive view; the drive along the loch to the hotel is stunning and the views from our balcony equally so; it is a wonderful spot that I was unaware of. We took a 'feature room' with a balcony overlooking the loch which on a good day was lovely. Reception... More

We stayed with 2 toddlers. First time sharing a room with them, but surprisingly ok. Staff were great. Pool a bit cold, but kids still loved it. Just a pity no "shallow end". Food was ok. Kids preferred bistro to restaurant. Would have liked kids drinks like fruit shoot rather than juice in a glass. Board games available in bistro,... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time to review your recent stay here at Forest Hills. I very much appreciated the feedback and will look into updating the board games, unfortunately I am unable to change the pool but again it is useful feedback for future guests who will be bringing children. Perhaps next time you come you could leave... More

Had a wonderful stay at Forest Hills! All the staff including reservations were very welcoming and friendly, the room was a wee bit dated but very clean. My son loved the Easter Egg and the colouring books which I felt was a lovely touch. We ate at rafters bistro and the food was lovely, the atmosphere was relaxing and my... More

Thank you so much to everyone at the Forest Hills for making our stay once again so fantastic. We ate in the Garden Restaurant every night of our 4 night break and it is just wonderful, it is the best cheeseboard in Scotland. This is our favourite hotel and we look forward to returning at least once a year, just... More

My husband booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary. He paid extra for a four poster bed and a room with a view. The room was needing updated. An old tv sat in the middle of the room in front of the dresser that I could not use to get ready without sqeezing behind the tv. The four poster bed... More

This was the third MacDonald hotel our group has stayed in for an away weekend in the past four years. I'll never stay in one again. One of our group is a wheelchair user. The hotel's idea of an accessible room was on the second floor (!) bathroom was a normal bathroom with a grab rail and an emergency pull... More
