A group of friends used this hotel when going to a wedding in it's sister hotel The Brig O' Doon as it was fully booked. It would have to be the most picky of person who could find fault with this hotel, on arrival the grounds are well cared for and our first impression was backed up by our welcome... More

I visited Ellisland for dinner for a family celebration. As it was the week before christmas our booking was for an early time of 5.30pm. Due to the early time we were the only diners in the restaurant, however, did not feel self conscious with the staff being attentive whilst not being over the top. The food was delicious, I... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in December 2011, my second visit to the Ellisland and the experience was similar on both occasions and very enjoyable. The house is beautiful with wood panelling in the dining area, open (gas) fires and attractive furnishings and wall art. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished with spacious en-suite facilities, some with showers only and... More

Left Lochgreen hotel to come here and was not expecting the same quality, but if anything the staff were even more accomodating.Every member of staff had a smile to give and the restuarant staff were 1st class. Very pleasant and looked as though they even enjoyed their job! I've stayed in many a hotel where it appeared to be a... More

My friend and I stayed one night here, and enjoyed the room, and the excellent restaurant, very much. This was one of only two places we stayed in Scotland that had top sheets on the beds, and nice pillows! The bathroom was very nice, and the room beautifully decorated. The only drawback was there was no lift, and in spite... More

My wife and I stayed here for a night in September as part of our trip through Scotland. The staff was very kind, and our room/bathroom were very nice and very clean. We ended up having dinner at the restaurant downstairs, and the food was amazing - probably our best meal in Scotland, and we ate at several very nice... More

Went for a meal the vegtables were burnt and the manager was very rude and unhelpful Definately would sugest you give this place a wide berth unless you want to be treated like second class cit'izens They should be ashamed at their lack of interest in our complaint when there is so many better places to eat all around them More

We did not stay at the Ellisland House Hotel, we were staying at a local B & B and our hostess recommended this as a place for us to dine. It was excellent. The service was very very good and the meal divine. The menu options were plentiful and LOVED the meal. Could not recommend this excellent restaurant enough. The... More

I have never stayed as a guest as I live fairly close however myself and my family visit often for lunch. I find the service efficient and friendly. The food is divine and we have never been disappointed on any occasion. The staff are good with children which I find unusual in high quality restaurants this is a huge bonus... More
