I stayed here sometime in October, during October break, it was a nice place, very homey, and the breakfast wasn't that bad. Though there's not much of a selection. The kids enjoyed playing on the lounge with the doll house. The owner was quite friendly and helpful. The beach is just a walking distance and so the town centre...very handy.... More

Stayed 3 nights on a breakaway to chill out. Location is very good. City centre easy reachable with lots of restaurants and shops as well as the beach all on your doorstep - easy walking distance. Good choice of breakfasts (Continental, cooked - if haggis and black pudding wanted it had to be given notice the evening before, vegetarian, porridge,... More

We stayed 3 nights last week at "The Dunn Thing" B&B - due to a problem with the cottage we were renting in the area at the time. Mrs. Dunn was very welcoming and so obliging when we arrived - nothing was too much trouble the whole time we were there. She was great with our children - and was... More

Nice B&B at a reasonable cost, clean & tidy but it lacked care for its guests. Didn't bother us too much but the fact that no-one was available for assistance and advice was unsatisfactory. Can't fault the young lady who was brought into cook and help clean as breakfast was lovely and she was very helpful and attentive.

Looked and sounded nice in brochure. . . .No "free pick up".No "welcome cup of tea on arrival".Rooms adequate (except that the milk was sour, sachet of hot chocolate musty). "TV lounge for guests" uninviting - seemed more like a store-room. Breakfast nice, varied choice. Unfortunately, the owner was rarely available to help with any needs eg., a couple with children... Look guys your not going to get a Hilton at b n b prices. This place is clean and presentable and a 10 minute walk from the centre. I stay in about 10 different places around the UK every month and I would stay here again. Free wifi but low reception in room 3. Also the tv in this room... More

Dunn Thing is a nice B&B in a secluded area of Ayr. Short walk for pubs , dinning. Room was clean. Tea and Coffee facilities with lots of milk etc , unusual as just usually get enough for one cup in most places. Shower toilet small but no problem , shower no powerfull but adequate for our needs. TV was... More

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting family near Glasgow. We had a very nice welcome from the proprietors daughter who made up feel welcome and helped us settle in. There was plenty of room in the family room that we had booked for two adults and two teenagers, also our much loved dog was able to stay in... More

We stayed here prior to flying out from Prestwick Airport. The accomodation was clean and the owner very welcoming and helpful. They recommended a nice restaurant 10 mins walk away (Chestnuts) and were very accomodating with our early flight the next day. Would recommend this b&b.
