As you can see we came to Tulliebole Castle last year and loved it so much we came back. Stayed in the cottage Monday to Friday this time for a longer stay because it was so lovely last time. Even in the pouring rain we received a warm welcome by the owners. There was the lovely welcome pack in the... More

I visited to see the maze and graveyard. Drove up, unannounced, on a wet and windy Monday afternoon and Lord Moncrieff was an amazing welcoming and knowledgeable host. I walked the maze and graveyard then he gave me an impromptu tour of the castle which is fabulous. What a part in Scottish history. We talked of witches and trials and... More

The Castle is so unique and the hosts were marvellous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lord and Lady Moncreiff are wonderful hosts and the room was super. It was great to better understand the history of this wonderful home. The opportunity to walk the grounds, see the maze, the out-buildings and experience the beautiful property was special. The rooms are... More

Stayed in the self catering holiday cottage that was part of Tulliebole Castle for a long weekend. When we arrived the cottage was amazing, everything you could want and more. The fridge had breakfast for next day in it, loaf of bread, milk, bacon, eggs etc. The cottage itself was an old barn, long and thin with all the mod-cons... More

My father, 7-yr-old son, and I stayed at this wonderful castle on our British Open trip this summer -- 2 nights with the Moncreifs, husband and wife who were gracious hosts. Turning off the rural road, driving up the wooded lane, and rounding the bend brought us to the breathtaking grounds of this centuries' old home...peacocks and exotic trees, the... More

Really, writing a review for this place is probably jeopardizing our ability to stay there ever again. Where to start? There are peacocks galore, a complicated hedge maze, AN ENTIRE GREAT HALL, and spacious bed and bath. Incredible history and knowledgeable hosts! Could not ask for a better combination. The Moncreiffs answered all of our detailed questions about the castle's... More

We only spent one night at the Castle but what a wonderful experience. The castle is fascinating and the accommodation so comfortable. Everything you could possibly need was supplied. The Moncriefs were so hospitable and the breakfast was delicious. If we are ever back in Scotland we will definitely return. More

All l have for this wonderful place is words of praise, from the moment we arrived till the last day. When we arrived we were served tea, sandwiches and scones and had a pleasant talk with the lord and lady Moncrieff. They were ever so helpful and went out their way to make it as comfortable as possible. Little things... More

A friend and I took a driving tour of Scotland in May and stayed at Tullibole Castle for 2 nights. It is so lovely and old, with turrets and stone spiral staircases. We stayed in the only room they offer. A large twin/king room with fireplace and private bath. This castle has been in the Moncreiff family since the early... More
