Historic hotel in quiet and green location, 5 mins walking distance to shoreline & Golf course, 15 Mins to town centre. Comfortable, spacious double room. Free WiFi in room and free parking on hotel grounds. At 70£ B&B (i-net special) excellent value for money. Nice bar. Breakfast is just OK, missed fresh fruits.

Wasn't the best of reasons to be staying here as it was for a family funeral. The accommodation was poor, a twin room found at the end of a twisting route that hadn't been decorated for years, cleaned slightly more recently but not very well. My disabled mother in law had to be 'upgraded' to an executive room as the... More

My wife and I stayed at the Newton Hotel last December as wedding guests (also at the hotel), we got a special wedding guest rate of £50 for the night including breakfast, which was fantastic value for money. The wedding dinner and service by the hotel staff was first class, and the food was up there with the best iv'e... More

I was only at the Newton for one night, and I wish I could have stayed for longer! The rooms were great, definitely fit in with the overall feel of the hotel. The food was delicious and the wait staff were all very friendly with a great sense of humor. If I ever return to Scotland, I would definitely be... More

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel we used it as a base to travel the north of scotland, the food in the restaurant was excellent, the breakfast great all freshly cooked for you, the staff very friendly. The only let down was the rooms they need upgrading which I gather is taking place at moment, the whole hotel is spotlessly clean.

We only stayed for one night as we were attending the Forres vintage theme day on the sunday, we were given a free room upgrade to one of the suites, the room was lovely with great views, and had a nice big bathroom with a double shower. We had our evening meal there and the food was delicious and keenly... More

We arrived at the Newton after traveling from Glasgow via a Loch Ness cruise. Which was definately worth it. It was a bit drizzly but then most of Scotland in April is. The drive to the hotel was lovely, with old trees on the left and 3 highland cows on the right. We all got to know the cows, Haggis,... More

We were not disappointed with our choice. The hotel is beautiful and the decor was very tasteful.I read that some thought it was slightly worn particularly the stair carpets -we felt that was part of it's charm !!!! Our meal in the diningroom was the best out of the 5 previous hotels we had visited, The care to detail and presentation(especially... More

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff however it just has 1 or 2 flaws that stop it being a 4 star. I stayed in the old part of the hotel and could hear people talking in the rooms next door. Also the carpet on the stairs were worn and in most 4 star hotels you would expect a complimentary... More
