We stayed for a weekends winter climbing with one of Alan's guides and so chose it, because it was convenient for early starts. We stayed in the six bed flat and were really pleased with the accommodation though as well. Ideal for a weekend or longer in the outdoors, with all comforts of home and well looked after and maintained.

Very suitable for climbers/walkers/paddlers and other outdoor people who want to avoid paying hotel prices for accommodation. You can self cater in the kitchens or walk down into Fort William itself for a meal. A Spar shop is only 5 minutes' walk away. The drying rooms are the best I have seen anywhere - if Alan ever tires of his... More

We stayed in one of the self catering flats. Wonderful spot, had everything we needed. Cosy and comfortable, and Calluna complex is a climbers delight, with like-minded travellers staying around and the West Coast Mountain Guides based in the complex. Gear can also be rented from here in case you forget anything. Has a great storage area for your climbing... More

Stayed for two nights in January. Hostel has a beautiful view over Fort William and is just a short walk up the hill from the town. The hosts are friendly and very knowledgable about the local area, in particular the walks. Stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm, the shower, toilet, kitchen and lounge facilities are right outside the room... More

Our family have stayed 5 times now, most recently in mid August, and we keep coming back because of the warm welcome, great facilities and excellent location. We stayed in the 6 bedded flat this visit and found it clean, comfortable and well equipped. The storage area for walking gear and the excellent drying room make it so much easier... More

Thanks Jane, Glad you enjoyed your holiday and are able to let other people know. As you say, holidaying in a potentially damp part of the UK does need good drying facilities, separate from your accommodation. Our de-humidifiers and drying rooms are legendary, even though I say it myself! regards, Alan & Sue More

We stayed two nights at Calluna's and just had a great time there. Alan's friendly character made it easy to feel home:-) His local knowledge helped us a lot to plan our trips to Loch Ness and Ben Nevis. In the evening we had a BBQ, a couple of drinks and a nice chat with Alan. One of the highlights... More

Thanks Corinna, Happy that you enjoyed your stay and the BBQ. Your wine was especially good! The BBQ weather has disappeared for the time being on the west coast of Scotland ;( Alan More

We stayed in the Alpine Loft for 1 week in July while visiting family in Fort William. We chose this self catering flat because it was inexpensive (compared to others in the area) and so we would be able to cook our own meals and have a private space. Overall, we found this accommodation to be quiet and suited our... More

Fair comment and we do struggle with air flow in this particular part of the accommodation. As we said, we will try to rectify the problem. Creating air flow is one of the answers, but planning regulations and air tight fire doors do not help. More regular cleaning will hopefully keep it at bay. Alan & Sue More

Stayed a night here before heading off to the CIC hut for a few days. Not only did we get a lift up the hill but Alan and and Sue kept our bags safe and let us have a shower at the end of our trip before heading home. . . . perfect

A few of us and my Border Terrier stayed in the Alpine Lodge for three nights. Superb value,if four people stay it works out at £16 per person per night(the dog was free). Apartment was clean and well maintained and the shower was superb!Wish I had one like that at home.No problems with the heating either,we had to turn some... More

We stayed in Apartment 1, for 2 nights. The house was well equipped, was in a very nice location with beautiful view from the living room. The booking process was smooth, the owners were friendly and helpful. The only problem with the house was that it was not too clean. Especially the kitchen and the bathroom. I would still recommend... More

Thanks for keeping us informed about the cleanliness of Calluna at the time of your visit. We normally get good marks for cleanliness and will continue to monitor this important area of our service. As we were both away on holiday at the time, we cannot comment directly about what went wrong. Sometimes if other guests are staying the common... More
