After a drive up from Inverness we had a Very Warm Welcome from Elspeth & her Husband. The standard of the room and B&B was excellent. Great place to stay, beats any hotel...... Good choice at Breakfast, a must to try is the Scottish Haggis Black Pudding that's not Black..

A very warm welcome. Spotless and gleaming clean, warm and cosy in an excellent room. As here on my own working, would be 100% perfect if you did evening meals however, 99% perfect will do for me. Thank you Elspeth, you have a beautiful home. Best wishes, dawn

We enjoyed a two night stay at this excellent Bed and Breakfast. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and the breakfast was freshly cooked with lots of choice. The fluffy towels, comfortable bed with high quality bed linen and the large shower all enhanced this wonderful experience. Elspeth proved to be everything others have said and went beyond the call of duty... More

We were extremely pleased with our room at The Clachan and Elspeth was an excellent hostess. Our room was spotlessly clean and the en-suite was fabulous. Everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel and the bacon at breakfast was some of the best I've ever had. It was just a pity we were only staying for one night... More

Elspeth was wonderful and very very kind when it was not certain if we needed another night due to an extended hospital stay. Thank you Elspeth. We cannot recommend The Clachan highly enough.

Elspeth deservedly wins the Olympic Gold medal for accommodation in 2012. This B 'n B is unbelievably scrupulously clean, the silver bathroom fittings positively gleam, the carpet is akin to walking on a tartan mohair blanket, the hand wash lotion has a most addictive scent, and sleep was inevitable on that soft cloud of bedding! What a fabulous choice of... More

The rooms are excellent. The host is very courteous. The location is pretty close to the town center. The town is under 30 miles to John o' groats (Would suggest people to stay here or Thurso rather than John o' groats itself as you can cover other nearby places of interest as well). The breakfast was excellent. Stayed in this... More

Stayed at the end of January, Elspeth is a total charmer and The Clachan is quite superb. Given that Wick is a grimy, unspectacular town with, frankly, very little to recommend it, ( apart from a very decent Wetherspoons ) it's all about the journey there ( which, by train, is superb ) and then the B&B experience once there.... I have lost count of the occasions that I have stayed in the Clachan as I travel with my work - I have stayed in each of the bedrooms and all of them are of a very high standard. The welcome is typical of this friendly part of the world, the rooms are beautifully decorated and are very well equipped.... More

Despite the fact that I called at very short notice and was out of season, Elspeth opened up the B&B for me and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Rooms are very clean and well equipped and breakfast was fantastic. Very happy to recommend.
