After reading the review we were frankly expecting this place to be pretty awful. It wasn't. The room had very clean freshly laundered bedding and the en suite bathroom was clean. The kitchen living area was quite grubby and untidy and it looks as though the staff from the chip shop downstairs have their breaks up there. You get 10%... More

Stayed here just one night. Rooms were a decent size and had its own en-suite which is not always the case in a hostel! Common room/ kitchen well equipped and had a computer for internet access although free wifi could be picked up. The main downside to this hostel is that the rooms smelled a bit- not too sure why?... Rooms and facilities are not the cleanest. The location is quite good in the middle of Thurso. They provide some free breakfast stuff comprising toast, jam and cereals. We stayed here before heading over to Orkney by ferry the next morning - fair enough!

Stayed here on my way to John o groats. Chose because of cost. First time I have ever stayed anywhere like this. It was brilliant. Fantastic atmosphere in the common room. Rooms were basic but bed was comfy and I was surprised how warm. Defo recommend this place and if you have never stayed in a hostel like this, do... More

My Son and his friend had cycled 900 miles over 9 days (Lands End - John O'Groats, with myself as support car for the last 400 miles). We'd decided to stay in Thurso for the night and set off home the next day, so rang the missus back home to book us somewhere for the night. She rang back telling... More

There are no trains to Inverness on a Sunday so I stayed here with my friend overnight and got the Monday morning train. I booked a twin room at this hostel after first looking for a B&B and being unable to find one. The website looked ok and at £38 for a twin ensuite room I thought it would be... More

The hostel is cheap and includes tea/coffee and breakfast. Finding the hostel is difficult as the reception is a fast food takeaway. Bedrooms were clean and had a toilet and shower. However, the lounge and kitchen were cramped and felt dirty. There is no secure storage for bikes. I shared a dormitory with a family (father, mother and teenage son)... More

A hostel with no finesse, but with a good kitchen and good breakfast. A little better cleaning and beds not fading, it would have been ok. Rummen hade toalett anslutning till rummet. In the hostel there was a fast food place.

Had trouble finding the place and eventually went into a fish and chip shop to ask. It turned out that it was run from the shop and the hostel was around the side. The rooms were very basic and the seats in the common room / kitchen were filthy. The place just felt run down and unfriendly. We had been... More

This cheap hostel is in the center of Thurso. Prices are low, quality of the room is not high but a lot of facilities are offered for free. The reception is not one of the best ever: it is located in the fish&chips at the ground level. Debit or Credit cards are accepted with a surcharge of 2 pound. In... More
