We've stayed here a couple of times and loved it. It's down to earth, budget and well done. The location overlooking the river with the beer garden is grand and the Old Bridge Inn next door is dynamite. It's two minutes into the main drag of town so it's nice and central. The rooms are clean, simple and spacious. Not... More

Very clean, comfortable and good value. Very quiet when I visited but I guess it could get a little noisy if full. Great location just minutes from the high street, if you can manage to bypass the pub next door which has good food and real ale! Will use again.

The Bunkhouse is great for a short break with friends in Aviemore. The rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are quite comfy (some are a little creeky!) The pub next door, The Old Bridge Inn, is very cosy and sells a lot of real ales. The restaurant looks and smells great but unfortunately we never ate there. It's... More

Stayed for 2 nights end of jan to snowboard and were lucky enough to get a 6 person room for just my friend last visit. Unfortunately, this time the room was full and the other 4 occupants seemed to have taken over the whole room. In fact, they didnt have a great deal of stuff, its just the room was... More

OK. Its a hostel so dont expect to have your own room or the sort of luxuries you might find in a hotel. The building doesnt have good sound proofing so sound does travel everywhere and occasionally you get some disrespectful [...] who will ruin your nights sleep with singing at 3am. However 99% of the time you wont, and... More

Hi 'Cammyammy', Firstly, thank you very much for the feedback. Whilst we have had our fair share of negative comments, we do realise that it is often those who have had a less pleasant experience that are moved to review on sites such as this, and we remain committed to continually improving the Bunkhouse. Therefore we do value such constructive... More

If you want to stay in Aviemore avoid this place like the plague , I had no sleep what so ever , The noise of the floor above , people snoring ( above ! ) The room was dirty , the bed squeaked . all together a very unpleasant experience . I would have been better sleeping in my car... More

Stayed one night en route north. Family room with bunks and double bed. Room was quiet, warm and clean. Shower clean. Own loo. Shared kitchen available looked ok. Free wifi. Really nice staff, very helpful with good advice for local places to visit.

Stayed here for one night on a drive back from Orkney. Glad we only had one night there. It cost us £55 for a private room. We were unable to use the double bed as there were slats missing and it creaked horrendouslywhenever you moved. Fortunately there were two biunk beds so we used these. Cleanliness in the room was... The room we were allocated at the Aviemore Bunkhouse had six beds and was a mixed dorm. I must say that It is impossible to get any sleep in this hostel. If it wasn't for the European Backers leaving at six in the morning with every pot and pan banging in their bags, then it was the ridiculously squeaky bunk... More

Coming down from a great 5 day wild camp in the Cairngorms, we were glad to find this place, which had been recommended by a couple of guys we met on the top of Ben MacDui on our last day. It was welcoming from the start, next to a nice looking pub, and with a frankly gorgeous and friendly receptionist... More
