My husband and I stayed here in September 2010. The location is excellent. Our room was a bit small, but manageable. It was clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. We had a lovely view from our room and enjoyed the breakfast. Would recommend. More

A bustling hotel serving both tourists and business meetings. The staff was pleasant and thorough. Nicely furnished rooms although it looked like the carpets could stand a cleaning. Nice breakfast and pleasant bar. The location is wonderful. More

Stayed for 2 nights for a friend's wedding. The room was tastefully furnished with Scottish touch here and there. My room was right next to the clock of a church next to the hotel and it rang every 15 minutes so I really didn't need a clock in the room. My room was quite close from the lifts but my... More

Terrible cleanliness, only paralleled by awful service. Booked overnight stay 19/5/12 as part of a spa weekend getaway. Checked in late afternoon, Room 250. Immediately noticed horrible urine smell. Returned to check in & asked for new room. Told all rooms booked, but would get room re-serviced. Spent evening out & returned to air-freshened room. Awoke in morning to overpowering... More

This hotel is situated very centrally, and within easy reach of the main attractions. Beautiful old building and the decor is good quality. We stayed in an executive room which was well furnished, clean, and had a comfortable bed. No mini though. Bathroom well designed, but very small, hardly any room for toiletries or to get in and out of... More

The Waverly train station is so close, but if your coming with heavy luggage just take the taxi, its only 3.50. Its so close to the main hop on- hop off bus station, make sure to get the package for 2 days, it worth it, it almost take you everywhere. The room we have is a good size, bathroom is... More

Excellent location for Princes Street and attractions. The room was quite small and the bathroom only had a shower which was not very powerfull. It had the overall feeling of being well used and a little "tired" The service was ok but nothing special in fact the bar staff were quite surly. To sum up it does not live up to... More

The location is excellent - right in the heart of the city. Beautiful building and beautiful hotel. Nice food (had both breakfast and dinner there). The rooms are not bad either - nothing overly special for a four star, but not bad. It was paid by work so no idea if the price reflects the hotel (if it was super... More

Having stayed in its sister hotel in Glasgow, The Grand Central, several times we took the opportunity to stay at The George in Edinburgh when we saw an itison deal. To sum up the stay, I would say 'it was ok'! The level of service and comfort of the accommodation were not as good as the Grand Central. Walking along... More
